Guest in Master Class Louis Nagel
The next teacher member meeting will be held on Monday, October 24th, 2011 at Evola Music in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Our guest in Master Class is Louis Nagel of the University of Michigan. His presentation will focus on the Bach French Suites.
Deadline for the Ensemble Festival is Coming soon!
Deadline for Ensemble Festival entry forms is coming soon! Please have your submissions to the Ensemble Festival Chair: Keith Gamble by Friday, October 7th if you would like to have your students participate in the festival in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday, November 13th.
The Metropolitan Detroit Musicians League welcomes New President, Maria Lonchyna-Lisowsky for the 2011 | 2012 term.
Our next meeting will be on Monday, March 21 at Evola Music in Bloomfield Hills. The board of
directors meets at 9:00 a.m. and the membership program begins at 10:15. Our speaker is Waleed
Howrani, an American composer and pianist. He was born in New York, spent much of his childhood in Beirut and studied piano at Moscow’s Central Music School and the Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
He currently lives in Ann Arbor and is a member of Ann Arbor Area Piano Teachers Guild. He will be
presenting “The Teachings of Emil Gilels.”

The first Metropolitan Detroit Musicians League member meeting of the year took place today. We had the honor and privilege of having Giuseppe Lupis of Grand Valley State University present the works of George Gershwin.
